Club Updates for Week of 4/28/08

Hey, guys. Missed you at The Tower last night after practice but we'll get the chance to have some brews again soon. Just a quick couple of updates for the club.

-There is no practice on 4/29 due to spring semester break at EMU. I am going to try to go to Detroit that Thursday for their practice. If anyone can join me, let me know!

-UM's first practice of the Spring/Summer semester is Saturday morning, 5/3. I am going. Who will join me - maybe coffee and juice at Dom Bakery and then we'll all roll over to UM together? Lemme know!

As I have often said, UM is our sister club and we should all try to practice there as often as possible, especially at milestone practices - first and last practice of the semester or new year, someone from the club leaving to return to Japan (keep watching this space) etc.

Let's Have MORE FUN!!!

As the summer starts, let's all remember that the harder we work the more fun we have. Kendo is about pushing ourselves to get to a higher level. Be it our physical body, endurance, mental ability, socialization or anything else. The warmer it gets the more we need to focus on this. Let's all have MORE FUN!!!! Be sure to watch your water intake but push yourselves and enjoy the road. Also, be aware that next tuesday is our last practice before we have a week off between semesters. See you all then. Cheers!

Practice 4/15/08 - Biiru Geiko!

Hey, guys. Just a head's up to let you know that next practice, 4/15/08, we will end practice early and go for some beers. We don't get together to socialize nearly often enough, so plan on coming to practice, practicing hard, then ending early and going over to The Tower, or Brian's apartment in Brown hall, or both! Beer, pizzas, talk, samurai movies, the works. Call me if you get lost.

Anime: Bamboo Blade

I just found out about an anime called Bamboo Blade. I'm rapidly falling in love with this show - silly, yes, but great characters and a great storyline. And, of course, it's all about kendo! You can watch the entire thing here, or read up on it at this thread on Kendo W0rld.
